Introduction of Food Chemistry

I thought that many people really knew and need it. The first things that I would like to write are about food chemistry. Previously, It would be unfair if we didn't discuss food first.


Based on Wikipedia, Food is any substance that we consumed to provide nutritional support for our body. It's usually of plant or animal origin and contains essential nutrients, such as carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins, or minerals.

Historically, people secured food thru two methods: hunting & gathering and agriculture. Nowadays, food can be easily secured from our surroundings such as market, garden, yard, trader, store, and others. However, there is any concern about food exists throughout the world as a result of the discrepancy among underdeveloped regions and developed regions of the world.


According to Fennema, in developed regions of the world could be explained that food production is highly mechanized and only a small fraction of the population is involved in that activities. Whereas, in underdeveloped regions of the world indicated that the bulk of the population is involved in food production, less of mechanized and the basic nutrients in food. On the other hand, food is always available in abundance, much of its processed and use of chemical additives for preservation or nutrients supplements so that the concerns mainly related to the cost, quality, variety, convenience, and the effect of processing and added chemicals on wholesome and nutritive value.
